In Jesus’ time, Capernaum was an area of spiritual darkness. Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John, led into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit to overcome temptation... He then began his teaching ministry and could be found on this synogogue foundation in Capernaum... the Light in the midst of darkness. It was while I was here in Capernaum that God made the events and places of the Bible “real” to me.
Creating this artwork, I was prompted to listen to Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu for the first time. His speech ended with this same scripture I had chosen for the image. Amazing confirmation! I sent him the artwork to bless him and God’s chosen land.
